In my years of selling & collecting vintage handkerchiefs I have ever seen another one of these. A sheer green shamrock shaped handkerchief with touches of lace. Perhaps for a Saint Patrick’s Day bride!
The hankie is a pale sheer green with four net lace inserts, and measures about 10.5" across. The hankie is unused and still retains original label which reads Made in Switzerland. Even though it has not been used, there is one very small spot, almost an orange color. Looks to me to be where there was perhaps another label. It is out near the very edge of the hankie. You can see it if you look closely at about 9 o’clock on the second photo. There are some very slight fold marks also. Seeing that it retains original label, I did nothing to try to clean it. Really displays nicely, these are minor flaws, but I point them out none-the- less.
Unusual handkerchief to add to your collection, or to use for display on Saint Patricks’s Day. Always included with Nanalulu’s hankies is a C1880 copy of "Handkerchief Flirtations" Be sure to view our entire collection of hankies and linens.
