Crisp vintage white batiste cotton handkerchief made in Switzerland

The Swiss are known for their quality embroidery and handkerchiefs. This lovely hankie features a streaming spray of purple violets accented with dainty white lily of the valley. Lily of the Valley which stand for purity & new beginnings have long been used as bridal flowers. In Victorian times violets were known to symbolize faithfulness. What a perfect hankie for any bride to be! Circa 1940-1960. Handkerchief has 3 white on white stripes as a border & measures about  12" square. Hankie still retains it’s original Made in Switzerland gold foil label.

This hankie was purchased along with an extensive collection from the estate of a former handkerchief sales representative. Gorgeous Swiss made hankies in excellent unused condition.
